Elvin held the Jack Petchey Brent Regional "Speak Out" Final 2019

On Wednesday 23rd January, we had a fantastic evening at the Brent Regional final, superbly hosted by us at Ark Elvin Academy. We had 17 amazing speeches and superb entertainment. Brent certainly has talent!

The event was a brilliant showcase of the driven and talented young people. Aisha was the MC for the event and did and incredible job of keeping the audience engaged.

We had two entries that evening Dhamen and Maria. Both performed brilliantly. Dhamen finished 3rd place overall (out of 17 competitors). Furthermore we had three fantastic performances from the school choir (see lists below), Nazareth and Mariam which left our audience amazed at the level of talent we have in the school (we even had parents of students from other schools ask if we had spaces left?!)

However, evenings like this must remind us of the importance of preparing our students well. The level of competition is high (nationally and internationally)! Therefore it is essential to build and develop their resilience, character, and tenacity alongside a strong body of knowledge and ultimately the power to articulate themselves in speech and action.

By doing so we equip them with the tools that will allow them to go to university and pursue the career of their choice, living happy, healthy and full filled lives. If we really want our students to dare for greatness we to challenge them, to strive, to be uncommon amongst uncommon people.
