The annual Jack Petchey 'Speak out challenge' workshop

On Thursday 26th November, thirteen year 10 students took part in the annual Jack Petchey 'Speak out challenge' workshop in school.
The workshop is designated to develop young people's confidence and communication skills and gives them the opportunity to share their ideas in a supportive environment.
The students spent the day exploring what makes a good speech, with their content, delivery and structure being the focus points. At the end of the day, thirteen passionate speeches were performed, on world issues such as gender equality and Black lives matter to Stereotypes and the importance of education.
Ark Elvin Academy has had a great track record in recent years, with Diya Bhojani willing the Brent regional finals last year.
Our winning speakers of the day who will now go on to perform in the Year 10 assembly finals were:
