Your Life You Choose Brent delivers their one-day multi-agency presentations to Elvin pupils
Elvin students heard from a variety of professionals including magistrates, police officers and paramedics on Thursday the 3rd of October as part of Brent’s ‘Your Life You Choose’.
Year 7 students were able to learn more about our criminal justice system and life-saving first aid. The pupils discuss the life choices they have and the consequences of making the wrong choices.
The programme encourages young people to make informed decisions and to understand that they have a choice about the path they take in life.
Your Life You Choose Brent delivers a one-day multi-agency presentation to educate young people about the consequences of crime, not only for the offender but their family and friends,
victims and the wider community.
The project is led by Magistrates in the North West London Justice Area. YLYC Brent brings together magistrates, police – safer schools officers & trident officers, prison officers, EOTAS – inclusion officers, Directions project – ex offenders, paramedics, education consultation in cyberbullying & sexting.
In a rotation of workshops with the agencies, pupils look at how society deals with people who commit crimes. The workshops explore pupils' preconceptions and stereotyping in relation to criminal activity and raise awareness of the long lasting and far reaching effect of crime on their future.
