Our School Remembrance Ceremony to honour those who have sacrificed themselves for our freedom

Last week, Ark Elvin Academy came together as a community in a moment of remembrance for those who have been, and who still are, affected by conflict. During the week students had the opportunity to explore the purpose of remembrance in assembly, looking at three separate stories of courage and bravery from individuals who have resided in Brent.

After break time on Friday, Air Cadet Krish Patel (year 11) led our inaugural remembrance ceremony by raising the Union Jack aloft in the courtyard. Representatives from each year group then laid unique wreaths that had messages from each form group, remembering those who had given their lives in service.  All students observed an impeccable minutes silence, taking the time to reflect on the event and those who have been affected by warfare.
