Elvin Basketball Team given the opportunity to watch the London derby between London Lions vs London City Royals

On Friday 1st November our Year 9 and 11 basketball team had the opportunity to go and watch the London derby between London Lions vs London City Royals. This took place at the home of the 2012 Olympic basketball venue "The Copperbox" which is now the home to the London Lions.

A very close and entertaining game where the Lions edged the Royals 100-99. Pupils got to experience the top level of British Basketball in addition after the game our pupils got to meet and talk to a few players from both teams Justin Robinson (2-time BBL champion and Great Britain international) and Orlan Jackman (England international in the 2018 Commonwealth games).

With thanks to Mr Maxwell a Basketball player himself and friends with the players, he was able to give our students the opportunity to meet the players from both teams where the pupils listen to the player’s advice and motivational words helping them to focus on their up and coming tournament which takes place in two weeks.

A big thank you to Ms Melo who came on the trip with team!!!
