Elvin celebrates World Book Day
To mark World Book Day on 5th March, the library ran two competitions. The first was treasure hunt and the other a short story competition.
The treasure hunt was a great success students of ages participated. Most of the students signed up in groups and during lunch time they were all given maps and a clues sheet. The students had to score enough points to win a prize, this was to be done by going around the maths department to find clues and answer the questions. Even students new to English were deciphering clues and hints, getting support from everyone they could find. The winners were a year 7 team of Krish, Harsh, Frankie, Kriyes, and Vedant.
The runners up were joint second place, one team comprising Debaa, Ankita, Mary, Asil, and Klejsi, while the other was a trio of Bhavya, Ubaid, and Yash.
The short story competition was highly competitive with many pupils entering. The judges eventually selected the following winners:
- Key stage 3: Olutobi (year 8)
- Key stage 4: Olufunke (year 11)
- Key stage 5: Lukman (year 12)
- Most creative story award: Shsa’Ai (year 8)
