Last week, pupils, teachers, and families attended a Reading Graduation Evening in our school library. The event was organised for pupils who currently attend regular reading lessons.
The event was a celebration to mark how pupils' reading has improved since the start of the year.
Pupils proudly performed recitals, reading aloud extracts of stories they had been reading in their lessons.
Reading teachers were on hand to showcase pupils' work. Families were given the chance to listen to recordings of their children, reading complicated texts, and to see annotations in their workbooks.
After a set of eloquent reading recitals, our principal, Ms Curtis, addressed pupils to congratulate them for their efforts and the progress they've made this year.
Next, pupils were awarded with effort and progress awards by their reading teachers.
