We are Team Elvin!
We are on a mission to ensure that every pupil leaves our school confident, articulate, culturally aware; able to pursue careers they are passionate about, contribute to society and live happy, healthy and fulfilled lives.
We aim to live our motto 'Dare for Greatness'. This means we have the highest expectations for all our pupils. We are committed to ensuring that every pupil makes great progress, secures the highest possible outcomes, and is supported to the next stage of their journey.
For our pupils to be successful we know there are three essential elements:
1. Pupils are in school - we expect excellent attendance for all pupils
2. Pupils work hard in school - we live our high expectations and expect pupils to give 100% to make every moment count
3. Pupils work hard at home - we set homework to help our pupils remember what they have been taught
We are proud to serve the community in Brent that we do; together we can support our pupils to thrive. We have codified our expectations of our pupils - summarised in our Home School Agreement. We appreciate the way our families work cooperatively with us.
Our Sixth Form is amongst the best in the country in terms of the progress our pupils make, which supports them to go onto great Sixth Forms - the real embodiment of our mission. We love hearing about the success of our Sixth Formers are they progress through university and beyond.
We are part of the wider Ark network - one of the country's top-performing academy groups, with a shared mission to transform lives through education.
We are proud to be Team Elvin and are driven by our work to support our pupils to be successful as they Dare for Greatness.

Magna Aude - ‘We dare for greatness’
At Ark Elvin Academy, our mission will never change. It is the aspiration we have for every child :
To ensure that every pupil leaves Elvin confident, articulate, and culturally aware; able to pursue careers they are passionate about, contribute to society and live happy, healthy and fulfilled lives.
Every three years we set ourselves a big, hairy, audacious goal (BHAG) and in 2025 we set our second BHAG: By 2028 we will challenge educational disadvantage by redefining an inclusive school model that creates the conditions where every adult and child can thrive in our school.
Our Elvin compass represents the values that underpin all we do at Elvin.
Our values underpin everything we do at Ark Elvin
- Integrity – We do the right thing even when no one is watching. We are honest and take responsibility for our actions.
- Courage – We have big goals and support each other to succeed. We have the courage to participate, overcome challenges and strive to excel.
- Community – We value kindness and cherish each other and the space we share. We celebrate and champion our diversity as it makes us stronger.
- Mastery – We are always learning. We work hard, act on feedback and understand the power of practice.
Sir Arthur Elvin
Our school is named in honour of Sir Arthur ‘Ginger’ Elvin MBE (1899-1957), a local man who helped build the original Wembley Stadium which staged the 1948 Olympic Games.
Sir Arthur was born in Norwich but later moved to West London. He left school at 14, and later joined the Royal Flying Corps during WW1.
In 1924, Sir Arthur began working in a kiosk at the British Empire Exhibition in Wembley. The next year he bought some shop units within the grounds, and in 1927 he bought Wembley Stadium and sold it for shares, becoming the stadium’s largest stakeholder and chairman. He introduced new sports to the stadium, including greyhound racing and speedway. He then went on to help stage the 1948 Olympic Games, and received a knighthood for his efforts.
Sir Arthur dared for greatness and achieved it; at Elvin Academy we aspire to do the same for ourselves.
