Phonics Graduation Evening 2023

Last week, pupils, teachers, and families attended a Reading Graduation Evening in our school library. The event was organized for pupils who currently attend regular phonics reading lessons.

Our principal, Ms. Curtis, addressed the pupils to congratulate them for their efforts and the progress they have made this year. 

The pupils who had graduated the phonics programme this year were awarded certificates by Ms. Curtis. 

RCU Phonics evening

Pupils were also awarded effort and progress awards by their reading teachers. 

Pupils proudly performed, reading aloud extracts of stories they had been reading in their lessons.

One of our pupils, Tamanna Ramji gave a thanksgiving speech to all the phonics teachers for the work they’ve put in to help pupils this year. 

Families were also given the chance to see annotations in their workbooks and meet their child’s phonics teachers.
