Pupils at our unique Sixth Form study Professional Pathways in Applied Science, Business, Exercise and Sport. Our BTEC results put us in the top 10% of schools in the country!
Pupils will be going to a variety of top destinations including the University of Warwick, Queen Mary’s and the University of Reading.
Becky Curtis, Principal, said: ‘We could not be more proud of our students this year – they are outstanding role models and have made such a difference for our community in their time at Elvin, have achieved great results and are now moving onto fantastic universities. Our 6th form is designed to keep the doors to university and top apprenticeships open to young people for whom A Levels are not the right qualification and once again our pupils have shown that they can make extraordinary progress and achieve at the very highest levels. Suzanne Musa - D*DD in Applied Science
Suzanne is going to be studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Warwick. Suzanne arrived in the UK at the start of Year 12 from Iraq, having no prior knowledge of the UK school system. Suzanne wants to become a doctor specialising in plastic surgery. Suzanne said: ‘All the staff at Elvin have helped me achieve more than I thought I could…when I couldn’t believe in myself, the staff at Elvin did.’ Suzannne has completed the Duke of Edinbugh award, been involved in Elvin’s Community Kitchen and participated in the Future Leaders Programme. Suzanne added: ‘Taking every opportunity meant that I had shown I was prepared to work hard’. She was awarded the Ruben Bursary to support her financially whilst she completes her studies as a recognition of her hard work and commitment.
Yash Shantilal, Antonio Pires and Kiran Gurung
Yash Shantilal, 18, and Antonio Pires, 18 who both achieved D*D*D* in Business; and Kiran Gurung, 18, who achieved D*D*D in Business; they are all going to study Accounting and Management at Queen Mary’s University. Kiran said: ‘It was very helpful to get support from the school when I needed it.’ Antonio added that he got support from the teachers when he was uncertain and they provided the clarity he needed. Yash would like to work in the accountancy field in the long term.
Rissa Coutinho - D*D*D* in Business
Rissa is going to study Business Management with Human Resource Management at the University of Surrey. Rissa completed a number of work experience and volunteering opportunities offered to her, including supporting at a local primary school. Rissa added: ‘The support the school has given me has been massive. Everyone got a laptop to help them. School was open during the holidays to complete studying – I found this easier than being at home. I also used the study room a lot.’
