UKMT
Some of our Y11s sat UKMT; a challenge that encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency. Our 2 students; Mihran and Vyom, qualified for the Pink Kangaroo, which only the top 1% of the 700,000 students who sit UKMT get selected for! Mihran also got an invite to National maths summer school following his performance, where he will be mentored amongst the rest of the countries top mathematicians.
Chess competition
14 students of our most dedicated chess players took part in a friendly inter-academy competition against Ark Academy. Whilst they beat us by 2 points, our top 3 players were unbeatable! Watch out of the rematch in summer 2…
Axiom Trip
12 year 7 students went to King's College London to attend Axiom's first ever Rising Mathematicians Festival! The students participated in a problem-solving maths activity, went on a tour of KCL and sat in on a lecture connecting magic squares to donuts!
Y8 Ark Maths competition
4 of our top mathematicians in Y8 participated in the Ark math competition. They completed a range of problem solving and logical thinking activities and placed 3rd! We are super proud of them.
