End of term arrangements

Please read below to see the following arrangements

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the end of another fantastic school year, we have an exciting week of trips, celebrations and events planned for our pupils. Please take a few moments to read the information below carefully, as it contains important details about each day of our final week, including what pupils need to bring and our early finish on the last day of term.

Monday 13 July – Personal Development Day

On Monday, we will be holding our third and final Personal Development Day of the academic year.

Personal Development Days are an important part of life at Ark Elvin Academy. They provide pupils with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, develop new experiences and strengthen relationships with their peers and teachers, creating lasting memories during their time at Elvin.

Trips by Year Group

  • Year 7: Walking tours of London
  • Year 8: Day trip to Ruislip Lido
  • Year 9: Visit to Southend-on-Sea
  • Year 10: Form group reward trips, including activities such as the cinema, bowling and trampolining
  • Year 12: Arts and Culture Day in London

What your child needs to bring

Please ensure your child:

  • Wears their Ark Elvin PE kit and comfortable trainers
  • Brings a refillable water bottle.
  • Brings a packed lunch, unless they are entitled to Free School Meals. Pupils in receipt of Free School Meals will be provided with a baguette for the day.
  • Brings any essential medication they require.

The forecast currently suggests warm weather, so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately and prepared for spending time outdoors.

If your child has a medical condition requiring medication, it is essential that they have this with them during the trip. Where the school already holds your child's medication, staff will provide it on the day. Where we do not hold the required medication, your child must bring it with them. Unfortunately, pupils who do not have the medication they require may not be able to take part in the trip.

If you have any questions about the day, please contact your child's form tutor.

Tuesday 14 July – Rewards Day

Tuesday is all about celebrating the fantastic achievements of our pupils throughout the year.

Attendance rewards will take place during:

  • Year 7: Period 3
  • Year 8: Period 4
  • Year 9: Period 5
  • Year 10: Period 6

At lunchtime, we will also celebrate pupils who have earned the highest number of merits this year with our Golden Ticket rewards.

Pupils should attend in full school uniform.

Wednesday 15 July – Sports Day (pupils will be dismissed at 1.30pm)

We are looking forward to another exciting Sports Day, where pupils will compete in a range of sporting events while supporting their year groups.

Please ensure your child:

  • Wears their Ark Elvin PE kit or appropriate sportswear.
  • Brings a refillable water bottle.
  • Applies sunscreen before arriving at school if appropriate.
  • Brings a hat if they wish.

Should temperatures become exceptionally high, we may make adjustments to the day to ensure everyone remains safe.

Thursday 16 July – Diversity Day (pupils will be dismissed at 3pm)

Thursday is our annual Diversity Day, celebrating the many cultures, backgrounds and identities that make Ark Elvin such a special community.

Pupils are allowed to wear non-uniform and are encouraged to wear clothing that represents their cultural heritage.

All clothing should be appropriate for a school environment.

During Periods 5 and 6, pupils will take part in our Diversity Celebration Event, where they will have the opportunity to learn from and celebrate the many cultures represented across our school community.

Friday 17 July – End of Term Celebrations

We will finish the year by celebrating our pupils' achievements with extended form time, our End of Year Celebration Assembly and the opportunity for pupils to reflect on another successful year at Ark Elvin.

Please note that school will finish at 11:30am on Friday 17 July. Pupils should attend in full school uniform.

As we come to the end of another successful year, I would like to thank all of our parents and carers for your continued support. We are incredibly proud of everything our pupils have achieved this year and look forward to celebrating with them during our final week.

I hope you all have a safe, restful and enjoyable summer break. Thank you for being part of Team Elvin—we look forward to welcoming our pupils back in September for another successful year.

Kind regards,

Team Elvin
